Beginnings
How does the book open?
it engages your interest - if it grabs you instantly, how does it do that?
It grabs my attention straight after I open the book and begin to read chapter because it begins with the main part of the story. It tells you how scared she felt and why he went to gail and how the dad felt about it and was scared what it was going to do to his family. It makes you understand why the title is 'Don't call me Jojo.'

Don't Call Me Jojo, By Tania Mills
Theams/Ideas
Why did the author write this book?
Tania Mills wrote this book because in her first year of teaching she had a little girl in her class and her father was taken away by the police in the middle of the night. She ended up coming very terrified of the police after that, even hiding under a desk when a community constable came in to do 'safe walking' with the class!
